Block known abusive customers before payment, review chargeback and refund evidence, and use community fraud signals without paying extra for community protection.
Most fraud tools start with a score. Fraud Shield starts with evidence you can explain: a confirmed chargeback, an exact private customer rule, multiple independent merchant reports or a repeat refund pattern that deserves review.
The app is built for Shopify merchants who already know which customers should not be able to place another order. Instead of waiting until an order is paid and then cancelling it, Fraud Shield validates the buyer during checkout and can stop a confirmed match before payment.

Create exact rules for:
fraud-shield-block and fraud-shield-allow customer tagsAllowlist rules always win. That gives your team a clear escape hatch for trusted customers, false positives and support-approved exceptions.
Every rule has a reason, an optional internal note, an expiry date and an enabled state. You can also import or export rules by CSV.

Community protection will not be a paid add-on. Merchants choose one of three modes:
A community signal becomes eligible only after a merchant-confirmed chargeback or matching reports from at least two independent stores. Merchants remain in control of whether confirmed Shopify Payments disputes are contributed.

Fraud Shield imports Shopify Payments disputes as private candidates. Nothing is contributed until a merchant confirms the chargeback and has contribution enabled.
Customer Insights adds context without inventing a black-box risk score. It shows:
These signals support a decision. They do not automatically block a customer.

Fraud Shield supports an English or Dutch embedded admin interface. Buyer messaging is configured separately with editable English and Dutch checkout text.
Shopify’s Dutch checkout receives the Dutch version. Other checkout languages receive the English version. Internal reasons stay private, so the buyer sees neutral copy rather than an accusation.

Test mode records matches without stopping checkout or changing an order. When live protection is enabled, the checkout function blocks confirmed matches with the configured English or Dutch message.
For channels where checkout validation did not run, the order fallback can tag the order and alert the merchant. Automatic cancellation is available only after explicit opt-in.
Activity distinguishes block, warn, test, tag and cancel actions. It also shows Shopify payment status, unpaid and Action required states, channel and estimated attempted value. Estimated value is context, not a claim of revenue saved.

Fraud Shield is preparing for its Shopify App Store launch. Tell us about your current chargeback or repeat-customer problem and we will let you know when merchant installs open.
